Amazon PII is retained only as long as operationally necessary, typically:
• Less than 31 days after order shipment, unless longer retention is required for legal, accounting, or dispute resolution purposes
After the retention period, data is securely deleted or anonymized.
7. Backups & Archival
• Encrypted backups (AES-256) are stored in geographically separated locations
• Backup access is restricted and logged
• Restore procedures are documented and periodically tested
• Archived data follows the same retention and disposal standards
8. Testing & Development
To protect privacy during testing:
• Sanitized, anonymized, or synthetic data is used whenever possible
• Test environments are isolated from production systems
• Any temporary test data is securely deleted after use
